Sales Manager Norway
The Sales Manager in Norway is responsible for all group sales and customer service; conference sales (MICE), events, direct groups and private party groups sailing on the DFDS global route network. The Sales Manager Norway will be located at our office in Oslo and will report to Global Head of Business Sales in Copenhagen.
You will have approx. 12 direct reports, 4 Key Account Managers and 8 Account Managers in Norway and be responsible for all Norwegian group sales budgets.
You will be responsible for maintaining the pipeline and be part of the operational daily business. You must have experience with setting Sales KPI’s and follow up on sales targets with the Key Account Managers.
Primary focus area: Gain new business. Increase customer base and develop new business opportunities in close cooperation with BtB Marketing. Generate and qualify leads for new sales opportunities and convert these into sales.
Manage and lead day-to-day sales and sales operations. Developing and executing strategic plans and transforming them into efficient tactical and operational action plans to gain business growth and increase market share.
Ensure that the strategy and operations reflect customer needs, future trends and competition.
Retain and upscale existing accounts. Mapping of prior customers and volume potential and prepare a win-back plan for prior lost customers.
Conduct regular meetings with the customer management level (decision makers) to understand their needs and to link them to DFDS products and services. Create a demand for DFDS products by knowing and understanding the customer’s business requirements, both long-term and short-term.
Ensure profitably use of CRM and registration of all sales activities in compliance to DFDS business practices.
Collaborate closely with the Business Marketing Manager to ensure sales activities that will increase the pipeline and lead nurturing.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record within similar position, min. 3-5 years of experience; Hotel and MICE industry service record is highly desired.
Good sales, negotiation and presentation skills.
Understanding of customer life cycle and markets specifics within the travel industry.
A natural leader with excellent coaching skills, and with the capability to engage and influence people and mindset to create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
Experience with CRM and BI to forecast the sales challenges and the possibilities.
Social skills and a team player with ability to build relations.
Good communication skills in English.
